International Literacy Day events

Saturday September 8th, is International Literacy Day and representatives from our library’s literacy program will celebrate how literacy can open whole new windows to our world.

We will be three places on Sept. 8, to highlight literacy awareness. Literacy volunteers will be on hand to distribute information and answer questions about how people can learn to read and teach folks how to read.

Here at the library, we will have a Literacy Day Open House. You will have the opportunity to tour our new tutoring areas.

From 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., you’ll find representatives up at Wal-mart. Stop by our Literacy Day booth and talk with literacy volunteers and pick up information.

Finally, from 4 to 9 p.m., visit us at the Cultural Awareness Day Celebration at the Broadway Fountain in downtown Madison where we’ll be encouraging people to get involved.

When you visit us at any of these locations, be sure to enter our prize drawings for free books!!!

Open a window to the world. Teach someone to read. Become a tutor!
