Book haiku

For National Library Week, our mascot Booker Bee is having fun with bookmarks. What’s so special about his bookmarks? He’s been writing book haiku! Here’s a sample…

A cat wanders by
In a tall red and white hat
he does wondrous things

Fun, ey?

The New Jersey girl
Prowls for fun and excitement
Mystery abounds.

So what are the books? Oh, these two are easy so we won’t tell you the answer. The answers are on the bookmarks, however.

Booker will be passing out his bookmarks with sundry haiku every afternoon this week. Stop by to meet Booker Bee on Monday, 3-5, Tuesday, 4-7, Wednesday, 3-5, Thursday 4-6, and Friday 3-5. You can also pick up a bookmark at the front desk.

Try your own hand at haiku in the comments! Each line has certain number of syllables. The first line has 5, the second has 7 and the third line has 5.

Grrr… forgot to take “a” out of that second line. I’ll have to give you another one in repentance.

Can’t stop the missions
Unless you’re crazy. Asking…
means you’re not crazy.
