DVDs May 2008: Some Came Running!
Some Came Running, the movie that rocked Madison in 1958 with the arrival of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Shirley MacLaine, has FINALLY come to DVD this week! Of course, we just ordered copies for our collection.
Even after having watched the movie a few times, we still find the dark, movie-ending carnival scene thrilling. Here’s a sneak peek into the future… Madison’s bicentennial committee is hoping to recreate the carnival as part of the city’s bicentennial highlight event 200 Hour Celebration on the weekend of June 13-14, 2009. Want to help make this come true? Become a volunteer by emailing Madison Main Street Program director Nancy Gruner.
Additional highlights include a pack of good westerns, Juno, and non-fiction to keep your hands busy (from dry-walling to crocheting).
Read on for all the videos we just ordered!Movies
