Fun Fabulous Frolicking Fall!!!
Hello everyone!! I hope that back to school hasn’t been too horendous and you are ready for fall. Personally, I’m geeked about the fall. Let me tell you why…
I’ve already posted abut the Word Fair but let me go into a little more detail, like exactly what I have in mind. (BTW, feel free to email me with your comments and suggestions. I sincerely want to know what you are thinking.)
Word Fair
Anyhoo… Word Fair … I’m thinking that we will have stations set up with different things going on. Those of you who love to write can go to writing prompts or magnetic poetry. Those who love to tell people what you think will have that opporunity. There will also be crafts, like making beaded bookmarks and so forth.
OH! And we are going to have book cover rejuvination, which means that you can draw new covers for old books, because believe me folks, right or wrong we really do judge books by their covers.
You choose the things that you want to do. If you want to spend your time drawing book covers or making bracelets, great. If you want to write your little heart out, great.
Plus, I want to post some of the things that you write on the website… so you will be FAMOUS, a little.
Youth Advisory Group
NEXT, Youth Advisory Group, I love you guys and I have gone long enough without you coming in to help me out. We are going to meet on October 5, 2006 which is a Thursday, at 6:00 p.m. in the conference room. It will be a hoot! I hope you can make it.
Now I’m going to tease you with ideas I’m working on for October and November…
October… How about an Icky, Sticky, Gewy and Gross science program? I’m working on the experiments and fun concoctions we could do.
November… I can’t let too many months go by without playing with duct tape so…. We are going to play with duct tape. Specifically I thought it would be fun to make Christmas presents for the people that we love out of the sticky stuff.
OK, so that is what I’ve got so far. Tell me what you think. And be sure to come to these events because without you they will be very dull and we don’t want that AT ALL.
That means register for the word fair and the youth advisory group RIGHT NOW. You can do that by calling the library at 265-2744, just ask for the children’s room (I know you aren’t a child, but this is where they keep me.)
