Hurray for Wacky Writers!!! Hurray for Poem in Your Pocket Day!!

I really hope that you all truly carry a poem in your pocket and share it with all of your friends.

Even better, memorize one. Here’s a good one from Shel Silverstein (I love that guy)

There are too many kids in this tub
There are too many elbows to scrub
I just washed a behind
I’m sure is not mine
There are too many kids in this tub

That’s funny, I don’t care who you are.

So seriously, about Wacky Writers at 6:00 on Thursday April 17th.

I’m trying to decide exactly what we should do so your input is appreciated.

Personally, I’ve been thinking for a while that I need to polish my limerick skills.

Of course, it has been a while since I’ve written any haiku, which is a shame.

But we are talking about poetry so the possibilities are endless. Maybe we will wing it.

A note to the folks out there who like to write… but not poetry….

This is not a class.
You won’t be getting a grade.
If you don’t want to write poetry you don’t have to. Just come and hang out with us and write whatever the heck you want to write.
