Series Poll and Reminders

Notice the new poll… what’s your favorite series. Obviously I couldn’t list every series on there so we picked a few (thanks to Caroline for her input). If you feel that your favorite series was unjustly left off of the poll, feel free to talk about it here so that everyone who reads this site will know what a great series it is and why we need to read it.

For example. I love the Confessions of Georgia Nicholson series by Louise Rennison and as many of you know, I recommend it to everyone. Even boys. Because I hear that if you read this series you will begin to understand girls. Actually what I read was that you will understand that girls are quite mad. Mad as in crazy, not mad as in angry. Ah the British…

But I digress…

I hope you had fun making duct tape roses last night. I did!! Absolutely wonderful to see so many happy faces learning the many joys of duct tape.

Don’t forget that Wacky Writers is coming up next Thursday, Jan 24th. We are going to try something new and I hope that you like it. Can’t wait to see you!!

p.s. For those of you who have asked I’m going to look into finding someone to teach us how to knit.

How about crocheting? I might be able to snag someone to help with that!

Maybe we could have a knitting and crocheting club. I know how to crochet a little but I’d like to get better. Of course I also want to learn to knit better so that I can make myself a Weasley sweater and Dobby socks.

Here’s my thoughts about knitting/crocheting…

Schedule a time for knitting club.
Invite knitters to come and help those who don’t know how.
Sit around and knit while we chat and so forth.

Caroline says to start with a scarf because it is easy.
Knitters/crocheters would have to bring there own yarn and needles/hooks. We will ask the seasoned knitters what kind to get, etc…

What do you think?

I think the knitting/crocheting sounds good. I checked out the Harry Potter knitting book and it’s so cool. I want to make some Dobby socks.

ME TOO!!
But first we will have to learn how to make easier things and then work our way up to socks. I’ll be adding info about the knitting program really soon. For now, mark March 6 on your calenders.
