Staff Pick: Pirates
Are you so intrigued with the movie Pirates of the Caribbean that you can’t get enough swashbuckling? ME TOO!!
Well… you could watch the first movie over and over on dvd until you wear it out.
OR…
You could pick up Celia Rees’ book Pirates.
Nancy and Minerva become pirates to escape from their lives. Nancy is running from a prearranged marriage to the Brazilian (not a nice guy). Minerva wants to leave her life as a slave behind. Can a pirate ship take them where the Brazilian won’t be able to find Nancy? Is there anywhere that Minerva can go where she won’t be judged by the color of her skin?
This book is action, adventure, historical fiction with a touch of romance. What more could you ask for? Johnny Depp or Keira Knightley. Sorry, not them. But you will love Nancy’s spunk and Minerva’s nerve. Plus a crew of interesting characters.
When I put this book down I was left wanting more. More pirates. More adventure. More Celia Rees. Probably I will watch Pirates of the Caribbean a couple more times and then pick up Rees’ novel Witch Child.

This was an awesome book! I loved it! It wasn’t as good as Harry Potter or the Inheritance Trilogy(Cycle), but it was still good!
