Tee Party March 20th
I am totally geeked about this. Today I made a bunch of t-shirts 1. to make sure I know what I’m doing 2. to give you examples. Please note the display by the stairs in the library.
Anyhoo….
Thursday March 20 from 6 to 8 p.m.
I don’t know if it will take us two hours, but I’m giving us that much time. Also thinking that if you want to make more than one shirt you will have time. As a matter of fact, making one will NOT take two hours. How many t-shirts you bring is up to you. Me? I’d bring three or more. Cause I really think you are going to be addicted and your parental units are going to end up telling you that you can cut up all of your clothes.
Let’s talk about size… There are tee ideas that can make a small shirt bigger and then there are ones that can make big ones smaller. Personally, I’d err on the side of big. But, if you have a favorite shirt that doesn’t really fit anymore, we can turn it into a halter top. You will notice the Pope John preschool t-shirt. That was my daughters from when she was 4. She is now 9 and will surely be able to wear it for at least another year, maybe two.
However the ones that are tied on the front and the sides, are much snugger than before.
There are some cools ideas that use ribbon. I didn’t make any of them today simply because I forgot to bring ribbon with me. Duh. But feel free to bring some if you would like.
Several of the ideas call for safety pins. I will have some, but it is safer for you to bring your own. Then I’m not as likely to run out.
BTW, all of the ideas that we are going to do are no sew. You could do a bunch with just scissors and a t-shirt. No needle and thread required. The book has needle and thread ideas, but I’m going to show you the no sew ones.
Any questions be sure to comment here or email me. I hope that you can make it. I can’t wait to see what you do with the ideas in this book!
