Yule Ball on December 20th
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix comes out on Dec 11th. Some of you are counting down the days. To celebrate the Christmas season and our great love of Harry Potter, we are having a
Yule Ball

Wear your dress robes please!!
Here’s what I’m thinking…
I’m just not sure how many of you are actually going to dance, but we have to have music. The only problem is that I’m completely uncool and not hip when it comes to music. So unless you want to listen to 80s music, which is what I consider cool and hip, you are going to have to tell me what you want and help me out. I’m going to try to get a Harry and the Potters cd, but no promises.
About the not dancing, standing around doing nothing does not sound like a good time to me. So I’m thinking that we should have crafts and activities going on around the room.
So what do you think? Are there any specific things that you think should happen? Any volunteers to help with music? Tell me what you want, what you really, really want. Sorry, couldn’t resist.

When I wrote this I neglected to talk about dress robes…
There are many ways to come up with dress robes. The easiest would be if your parents or an older sibling has old graduation robes laying around.
I’ve talked to a couple of people who are planning to wear capes.
I found some truly ugly fabric for a dollar that I think would make lovely robes for the eccentric witch, which I’d like to think that I’d be if I were a witch. Now I have to actually break out the sewing machine and see if I can pull it off. We’ll see.
I encourage you to be as creative as you want to be. It will be fun to see what you come up with.
Now of course, you may choose to come dressed as a muggle. That is fine. There will be no mistreatment of muggles at the yule ball.
I shall repeat that for the Slytherins…
THERE WILL BE NO MISTREATMENT OF MUGGLES AT THE YULE BALL!!

p.s. I’m serious about music kids. I’m clueless and out of touch. Someone needs to educate me about what is hip. Afterall, I think that Paul Anka is cool.

so shonica,
you need some help on whats “hip”? well i dont know what type of music you plan on playing but most of the songs i know are either in the metal rock, rap, and whatever nickleback, and 3 doors down classifies in. As for Harry Potter music i heard they are coming out with a Harry Potter sound track but im not sure if its out or not. So…. i think i might wear Mrs. Armstrongs old grad robes. what would be cool though is to either watch the 5th Harry Potter while we are there for those people who dont feel like dancing or we can have a Harry Potter Trivia over the 5th one. and i can garontee that I will get most of your questions right because i went to go see that movie three thimes in theaters and i have read the books multiple times. I have some Harry Potter board games that we can use if you dont want to watch the 5th one. or you could make up your own trivia. (but if you do that i think it should be over the book because i think more people have read it than they have seen the movie but anyway ill see you tomorrow.

there should be alot of spoilers there if you havent read the books plus secrets if they arent there i will be upset but i would understand it has to be over 20 pages long aleast i got them off google google to the rescue.
