Get a Library Card
Jefferson County residents and property owners are eligible for a free Madison-Jefferson County Public Library card.
To obtain a card simply bring your Indiana driver’s license or Indiana identification card.
If your Indiana license does not have your current address then bring one of the following as well…
- valid voter registration card
- valid current government-issued ID (military ID, passport)
- recent bank statement
- recent utility bill or
- property tax receipt
New residents or temporary residents of Jefferson County may bring their home state drivers license along with proof of current address from items listed above.
The Madison-Jefferson County Public Library is now a member of the Evergreen Indiana consortium of libraries which enables you to use your card and access materials at libraries across the state. Read more about Evergreen Indiana.
