Frequently Asked Questions

What about the Hanover College library?

A Hanover public library and the academic Duggan Library at Hanover College would complement each other wonderfully.

Duggan Library at Hanover College

The Duggan Library’s mission statement emphasizes the development of scholars. Hanover College’s library offers a $5 community card limited to 5 books at a time for local students and adults doing research. It’s a wonderful academic library unavailable in most counties our size.

A branch in Hanover

In turn, the Hanover branch would offer books, videos, magazines and programming for daily life — everything from “how-to” books to popular titles.

Collaboration

The college’s children’s literature classes use our collections. Many Hanover College students have our library cards. Hanover’s College Mentors for Kids program will use our library’s resources for working with local first to fourth graders. Professors have taught classes and given demonstrations at our library. In turn, the college library helps high school students and adults with advanced research. With the opening of a Hanover branch we look forward to this type of collaboration increasing.
