The Miss Madison is the only community owned and supported boat on the unlimited hydroplane race circuit. Since the earliest documented regatta in Madison in 1911, the boat has been a familiar sight on the waters of the U. S. A. The boat, crew and people of Madison always had the drive and heart of a winner but not until 1971 did Miss Madison gain the prize, the Governor’s Cup. This was the culmination of years of hard work and dedication. Not until 2008 would the boat win such an honor. In 2008 the U-6, Oh, Boy! Oberto/Miss Madison, driven by Steve David, won the National High Points championship.
