Free Family Films at the Ohio Theatre!

This summer the Ohio Theatre and the Madison-Jefferson County Public Library are working jointly to promote reading this summer!

The Ohio Theatre is holding their annual free Summer Family Film Series starting Memorial Day weekend.

Books to Movies!

First up, several of the movies are based on books! When you’ve seen the movie, read these books!

• “The Water Horse” by Dick King-Smith.
• “Shrek” by William Steig
• “The Spiderwick Chronicles” by Tony DiTerlizzi.
• “Horton Hears a Who” by Dr. Seuss.
• “Nim’s Island” by Wendy Orr.

Also, our library mascot is “Booker Bee” and the second film is “The Bee Movie”! (It fits in with our theme of “Catch the Reading Bug” too!

Prizes for young readers

The Ohio is also sponsoring a grand prize for young readers. The more they read, the more chances they get to enter for prizes at the Ohio Theatre. When they read books as part of the library summer reading program, they’ll get chances to win prizes at the Ohio Theatre!
