New @ MJCPL! MP3 CD audiobooks
A 10-CD audiobook set were on a single disk? Really? Yes!
Your library’s just started purchasing audiobooks on MP3-CD which is a huge convenience over swapping disks into your player.
What’s an MP3-CD? The disk is a normal CD, however the audio files are compressed so more tracks can fit on the disk. A regular CD can hold 74 minutes of audio, but an MP3 CD can hold up to 16 hours!
How can I play an MP3-CD? Many of the newest CD players also play MP3 CDs. If you’re buying a new player — look for MP3 on the box! Many cars built after 2005 are equipped with MP3 CD players. You can play MP3 CDs on your computer and easily transfer the files to a portable MP3 players like an iPod. You can play them on DVD players too.
The new MP3 CDs are distinguished at the library with a light blue label, stop by and try them out!
