Author talk: Murder in the House of God

John W. Beavers was hanged outside the Jefferson County jail in Madison, Indiana.

Madison author Dave Taylor has a new book out that tells the true story of this dark chapter in Indiana history— the story of a Civil War veteran who developed a number of evil habits that ultimately led to his demise.

Join us on Saturday, Feb. 23, at 10 a.m. as Dave Taylor discusses his new book “Murder in the House of God.”

It was great. I am now searching my genealogy to determine if Levi or John Arbuckle were any my ancestors. My ancestors came to Saluda Township in 1812.

Mr Taylor, I attend church with Shirley Gray, who told me where Little River cemetery is located. My cousin-in-law
was a minister for that congregation of baptists in 1876. His name of Noell.
Mr Taylor, as a representative of Lexington Historical Society, would be willing to attend a meeting and discuss your book. It meets on the 4th Monday of each month at the Lexington Library
thank you
