An early view of the Tower Manufacturing Co. at 110-112 Depot St. The drawing was published in 1899 when the factory was only four years old. According to the May 18, 1899 issue of the Madison Daily Democrat "It turns out tons and tons of cat nails, wire nails and brads, and every description of tacks, single and double pointed. There are 100 tack machines, 40 cut nail machines and 20 wire nail machines." On December 15, 1916 a fire originated in the packing room that destroyed this original structure. The plant relocated its current location at Second and Cragmont streets in 1917.
