I’m sitting at my desk next to a shelf full of Christmas books which makes me wonder…
What is your favorite Christmas book?
My favorite has to be How the Grinch Stole Christmas by Dr. Seuss. I love to read it out loud. The Christmas Witch by Steven Kellogg is also fun. My dad loves to read Twas the Night Before Christmas on Christmas Eve. Ooh, and The Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. I love to listen to that one on tape with Patrick Stewart narrating. He reads it very well and has the best voice.
So how about you? What books do you love most?
And I suppose that we don’t have to stop at books. Do you have a favorite Christmas movie? White Christmas with Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney and Vera Ellen. I watch it over and over and sometimes I don’t even wait for Christmas.
How about Christmas music? The Very Special Christmas cd that has Santa Baby sung by Madonna and Winter Wonderland sung by Annie Lennox. And I’m dying to get Casting Crowns’ Christmas cd.
Tell me your Christmas faves. I can’t wait to hear about them.

Since we had a blast the last time we played with beads I decided that we are going to do it again.
But this time…
We will make our own.
Hurrah!!!!

p.s. This event is for 5th through 8th graders.
As vampires of “Twilight” rule the night, Harry Potter’s wizarding world is making an encore presentation on Thursday, Dec. 4, with the publication of Tales of Beetle the Bard.
Author J.K. Rowling hand-wrote and illustrated the original book of short stories which brought an astronomical $4 million at auction with proceeds benefiting charity.
Scholastic publishing the American version, but Amazon.com— who was the high bidder for the original book — will be publishing a limited edition that replicates the original handwritten book. Scroll to the bottom of Amazon’s sales page to see images of the original book that was sold at auction. The page also offers a review of the book complete with spoilers!
To hold you over until Dec. 4, here is some wizard rock — music performed by Harry Potter fans about the books!
