Very merry fairy dream by Stange
It was just a very merry fairy dream
and I love cake and ice cream
grass under my feet
a flower under my nose
and as I woke with a start
I heard my little brother fart
This is the last time I told myself
That I shall dream of very merry fairies and ice cream

Review: Bullyville by Francine Prose
Bart was a normal 13 yr. old kid when he woke up one morning with a high fever and couldn’t go to school. His mom couldn’t find anyone to stay with him and was not going to leave him at home by himself. She did not go to work in the office where Bart’s dad and new girlfriend also worked. That day was 9/11.
Bart becomes the miracle boy that saved his mom from certain disaster. But being famous for saving his mom does not help him cope with losing his dad and his whole world turning upside down.
To make matters worse, in an act of charity and kindness Bart is given a a full scholarship to the local private prep school, Baileywell aka Bullywell. Everyone knows that kids that go to Baileywell learn to bully well. Bart learns this first hand when the biggest bully of them all is assigned to be his mentor.
OH MY GOODNESS!! This was such a good book! You can imagine what it must have been like to be someone who lost a loved one on that horrible day. Bart may not have dealt with the bullying the right way, but he dealt with it in a real way. It is very easy to forget that this book is fiction. I love the way that the author compares bullies with terrorists. How very true.
Warning: I could not put this book down. Beware of reading it when you have other responsibilities.
Enjoy! Shonica
Zero the Hero
Zero the hero sneaks into the night looking for someone to save.
A cat leaps behind a bush.
“Wait! You could get lost!”
Zero crawls after the kitty who leaps out of the bush.
“Good kitty, you go home now.”
Zero notices trash cans by the curb.
“Trash is collected in the morning not at night.”
He drags the trash can up the driveway.
A dog barks.
As Zero approaches, the dog scratches at the fence.
“Poor boy, do you want out?”
The dog shoots out barking in glee.
“You’re welcome!
Well, my job here is done.”
Zero the hero goes home.
