The story envolves four children who in order to pass a quiz they had to build a ship that would take them to Hawaii. After building the ship they sailed it to Hawaii, and while there they made new friends and spent the night with them. The next morning they went surfing. While surfing, one of the students, Jack fell off his board and fell into the sea. Everytime he tried to get up on his board he would slip back into the water. Finally he was able to get back to the shore. He was found lying on the shore not breathing. After his friends revived him, a huge wave washed over them. The children had several other adventures while they were there. In the end they made it back home and talked about their adventures while sitting in their tree house.
