Outreach Services
Library "Outreach Services" aim to bring the Library to the community, wherever community members are. This ensures equitable access to information, educational resources, and cultural activities for individuals who may face barriers to visiting a library or gathering resources. This can include, but is not limited to, the elderly, people with disabilities, rural residents, or economically disadvantaged groups. Connection and community can be found in all corners of Jefferson County and we hope to be present in every corner we can.

The Jefferson County Public Library Bookmobile has a consistent, dedicated schedule of monthly stops. However, if there is somewhere you would like to see the Bookmobile or if you have a specific event request, the JCPL team respects and appreciates community feedback. Home Bound Outreach
What is Home Bound Outreach?
Homebound Outreach services can be provided to any Jefferson County resident who is unable to get to a library branch for more than 2 consecutive months. This can be due to transportation issues, disability or any extenuating circumstance subject to library staff discretion. If you or someone you know is interested in Homebound Outreach Services please fill out the form linked below or call 812-265-2744. All library materials are pre-selected, checked out, delivered and picked up on pre-scheduled days, once a month, according to a schedule convenient for patrons and staff.
Who qualifies for Home Bound Outreach Services?
Any Jefferson County resident who is unable to access the library or a branch for more than 2 consecutive months.

About the Outreach Coordinator
Hi, My name is Hannah Bowman and I have been the Outreach Coordinator at Jefferson County Public Library for 5 years now. I grew up in Hanover, Indiana and I graduated from Indiana University Southeast with a bachelor's degree in English & Literature in 2022. I love working with people and bringing the joy of literature to their doorsteps. I also drive and operate the JCPL Bookmobile and I do adult programming at both the Madison and Hanover branches of the library when I'm not doing homebound deliveries. In my spare time I love snuggling up with my pets and a good book, travelling with my husband and finding our new favorite restaurants. Community, books and literacy are really important to me, and I can't wait to bring all of that to you!
